Where should I start? 250mg, 500mg, 750mg, or more?

It’s popping up everywhere – in the news, online, and in a store near you!

It’s never been more common to buy CBD oil. Everyone knows that its the tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) in weed which gets people high. What they might not know, however, is that there is now a premium on purely CBD products. CBD is growing increasingly accepted, perhaps outpacing THC, and marijuana itself, as one of the fasting growing herbal products. In this article, 250mg CBD oil, 500mg CBD oil, and 750mg CBD oil will be discussed.

Cannabidiol (CBD) might have inadvertently become the most popular chemical in the famous hemp plant. For many years, CBD was the under-sung hero of pot-smokers everywhere, both recreational and medicinal users. This compound is linked to a plethora of important effects; it appears, in fact, that most of the beneficial qualities derived from the consumption of marijuana might stem from one substance on particular cannabidiol.

  • Appetite Stimulation in Cancer Patients – 1 mg CBD per day for six weeks
  • Schizophrenia – 40 to 1,280 mg CBD per day
  • Glaucoma – 20 to 40 mg of CBD (sublingual) of CBD

Where should I start?

With all the different options available, it can be difficult to figure out what dosage to start with when pursuing a CBD regiment. A general rule of thumb is that the larger someone is (more mass), the more CBD will need to be consumed in order for any given effect to manifest. Here’s an example to help understand how to quantify or measure out CBD concentrations:

Assume you have a CBD tincture (with an average-sized dropper of 1 fluid ounce) 30 milliliters (mL) in volume containing 500 mg of CBD. Dividing the concentration of CBD by the tincture volume yields a total amount of 16.66 mg CBD per dropper.

When considering pain relief via CBD, it is important to make a distinction between the level of pain being experienced prior to administration of the dosage. For average pain in a person weighing between 100 and 150 pounds, for example, a 12 to 15 mg dose of CBD might do the trick.

Anxiety is another symptom for which CBD could possibly be a remedy. When feeling the effects of mild anxiety, a person weighing between 100 and 150 pounds might ingest 5 to 8 mg of CBD. A full dropper of a 250mg tincture is right at 8.33mg.

250mg CBD Oil

This amount of CBD oil is a good amount for some conditions, such as anxiety, epilepsy, schizophrenia, and some sleep disorders. Once your dose has reached 250mg CBD oil, it is up to half a dozen times higher than most daily doses for suggested uses of CBD.

If one planned to buy a 250mg bottle, they would be able to use 8.33 mg for thirty days.

This might be a good amount to start with, as it’s possible to limit the amount of CBD ingest daily. If 8.33 mg is lower than necessary for a dose, doubling a dropper-full will hold 16.66 mg, the same as a 500mg tincture. Then tripling a dropper-full will hold 25mg, which is the same as a 750mg tincture or soft gel capsule.

500mg CBD Oil

500mg CBD oil is a little more intense on the system. This amount is higher than most indicated amounts which are used to suppress pain or to help treat some mood disorders.

If a 500mg bottle of oil was purchased, a 16.66 mg daily dose could be applied for thirty days.

Epilepsy is the disorder which has seen the most success with CBD. There are multiple famous cases involving an ailing child, stricken with hundreds of seizures every week. In each case, the parents and guardians of these sick children decided to forsake the steady diet of pharmaceuticals they’d been using, and instead use CBD oil.

What was the result? The amount of seizures would dwindle to only a small handful in a the same amount of time.

750mg CBD Oil

If a 750mg CBD oil bottle or soft gel capsules were purchased, a 25mg daily dose could be applied for thirty days.

At this range, you’re most likely reaching the perfect concentration any single daily CBD dose for pain or anxiety. This amount of CBD is better suited to manage disorders such as neurological ones.

As it turns out, there are some bodies of thought which suggest that THC can exacerbate the symptoms of ailments such schizophrenia. With such disorders, there is a lack of the mood-regulating molecule dopamine in parts of the brain – a phenomenon linked to consumption of cannabis by adolescents. Higher doses of CBD have the potential to lessen the severity of related symptoms.

Whether you’re putting 250mg CBD oil, 500mg CBD oil, or 750mg CBD oil into your system, you can rest assured that you will not overdose on it. Scientists use a figure called the LD50 (Lethal Dose) to measure a compound’s toxicity. The latest indications are that the LD50 for CBD could be over 18,000mg, thousands of times higher than many other compounds.
